Yes, all our lodging properties have WiFi. 

Campus visitors should use UCSB Wireless Web, which features self-registration for UC Santa Barbara guests on the Wireless Web login page. Once you register, you'll receive an SMS/text-message-provided password, which gives you a seven-day connection.

Campus visitors from eduroam-participating institutions can simply select eduroam from their operating system WiFi options and log in using their institution's credentials. If you experience any issues with eduroam while visiting UCSB, please contact your home institution's service desk.

UCSB Information Technology offers campus-wide WiFi instructions.

Yes, all our properties have laundry machines that are available at no cost.

Packages are not accepted at the front desks. Mail will be accepted on behalf of a conference guest in special circumstances only. Please contact the conference office at 805-893-3072 for details.

To park on campus, you must have a permit seven days per week. ePermits may be purchased from the pay stations located in lots throughout campus. Additionally, Park Mobile is available in most visitor lots throughout campus, allowing visitors to skip the pay station and conveniently pay for parking through their phone.

Please park only in the lot(s) designated on your permit. Guests are responsible for following parking rules and for any penalties.

Yes, Santa Barbara has its own airport which is conveniently located 2 miles from UCSB.

The UCSB Express (24x) runs frequently from the Camino Real Marketplace in Goleta to UCSB and then to the Transit Center in downtown Santa Barbara.

Yes, UCSB is a bike-friendly campus.

There are bike shops in Isla Vista if you are interested in renting a bicycle.

Please make sure to secure your bicycle to the designated outdoor bicycle racks when not in use. 

We strongly recommended that participants from outside the US exchange their currency into US dollars at the airport of entry (the nearest currency exchange is 9mi / 15km from campus).

Our nationally-awarded food service includes:

  • Assorted hot foods cooked to order 
  • Vegetarian, vegan, and low-fat selections are available at every meal 
  • Extensive salad and condiment bar including fresh fruit  
  • Fresh baked goods prepared on-site daily

Yes, any summer conference visitor to UCSB can eat at our dining commons. You can pay by credit card (no cash) at the door.

If meals are included in your stay you will receive instructions at check in.

The UCSB Recreation Center is located on the north side of campus and is open to the public with the purchase of a day pass.

Yes, the UCSB Alert system is intended to enhance and promote safety on campus by providing community members and visitors with timely access to important information.

Visitors who would like to receive temporary access to UCSB Alerts can subscribe to our NIXLE channel by texting UCSBAlert to 888777. (Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.)
Temporary subscriptions to UCSBAlert expire at 9:00 AM the following day, but can also be canceled by replying STOP at any time. Visitors must renew subscriptions to continue receiving alerts after they expire.

For alerts and information about incidents that occur outside of Clery geography (e.g., Isla Vista, Goleta, Santa Barbara) you may sign up for Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency alerts in Goleta or Santa Barbara. For additional information on the UCSB Alert system please visit the UC Santa Barbara Police Department website.

Yes, UCSB is known as a typically safe campus, however, theft can occur without the proper precautions.

The University will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please secure your room and vehicle at all times.

Campus Accessibility

The UCSB campus offers excellent physical accessibility. The lay of the land is flat and free from environmental barriers and most physical structures are accessible. There is ample, clearly visible signage that delineates key access points around campus.

Currently, the University does not offer wheelchair or transportation services.

Besides specifically allocated spaces, Disabled Person Parking Placard holders may park in any lot or space designated for visitors, students, faculty, or staff.

All vehicles parked on campus must display a valid campus permit, and a Disabled Person Parking Placard or License Plate issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles is not a substitute for a campus permit. Vehicles with a Disabled Person Parking Placard or License Plate can park in any ADA spot on campus.
