The UCSB Department of Recreation offers a variety of activities, programs, and services for community recreational use, and for summer conferences. UCSB’s community recreation center is a short walk from the residence halls, where guests can experience the comfort and convenience of staying on campus.
It’s easy to enjoy all that this community recreation center has to offer. Conference or athletic camp planners and community members can easily access the Department of Recreation for resources and assistance to plan activities like the rock climbing wall or ropes course, scenic kayak trips, or coastal hiking excursions for their guests.
Perfect for anything from team building to practice and training, our community recreation center facilities feature two swimming pools and a Jacuzzi in the Aquatics Complex, as well as two gymnasia, three weight rooms, two squash courts, five racquetball courts, a multi-purpose gym, climbing wall, pottery studio, classroom, and locker facilities. In addition, community recreation facilities at UCSB include an Events Center, additional professional stadiums, 20 tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, two sand volleyball courts, athletic fields, a lacrosse pit, a campus pool, the Santa Barbara Harbor Sailing Facility, and the Cachuma Lake Rowing Facility. The Wellness and Fitness Institute is also available to guests as a professional resource for nutrition and fitness.
