September Temporary Housing

September Temporary Housing is available to UCSB students seeking permanent local housing or while they wait for their fall housing to begin. These transition times are often challenging and we are here to provide a helpful option.

Accommodations

September Temporary Housing is located in Santa Rosa residence hall. All rooms are triple occupancy, and you will be assigned two roommates. Linen is available at the front desk and may be exchanged as needed. Rooms will be assigned at check-in.

Cost

$60/person per night. Payment is due online via credit card at the time of registration. Credit cards, cash, and checks are not accepted at the front desk.

Eligibility

This program is available only to UCSB students with valid PERM numbers who are seeking permanent local housing or while they wait for their fall housing to begin. Rooms are booked on a first-come, first-served basis

2023 Dates: Saturday, September 2 - Saturday, September 23

Please plan to check in between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM.

The Santa Rosa front desk is open 24/7.

  • Keys and linen must be returned to the front desk in order to officially check out. 
  • Daily checkout is at noon, except for on September 23. Checking out after 12:00 PM will incur an additional night's charge, and you will be charged for each additional day until you have officially checked out. 
  • Final checkout: Saturday, September 23 by 9:00 AM.

Parking is not included.  Please coordinate parking with Transportation & Parking Services.

  • You will be charged $50 if you do not return your room key and $10 if you do not return your building key.
  • You will be charged if you borrow linen and do not return it to the front desk upon checkout.
  • Failure to leave your room in a clean, orderly condition and the furnishings in the original configuration may result in fees being charged to you. 
  • If there are damages in your room, you will be billed for the cost of repair.

If you want to extend or shorten your stay prior to your arrival, please email conferences@housing.ucsb.edu.

If you want to extend or shorten your stay after checking in, please let the front desk staff know.

If you extend your stay, the credit card you used to pay for your reservation will be re-billed for the additional nights.

Please note that the final checkout is Saturday, September 23 at 9:00 AM and stays cannot be extended beyond this.

Refunds for cancelled or shortened stays are generally processed after September Temporary Housing closes. If, however, you shorten your stay and would like to request a refund sooner, please email conferences@housing.ucsb.edu.
